Job Market Bisque
Pumpkin squash*, roasted with olive oil and brown sugar (not to be confused with a regular pumpkin!)
Garlic cloves*, roasted with and coated in the syrup from the squash
Toasted Wild Chilean Avellenas (aka Trader-Joe’s-speak for hazelnuts)
1 Fuji apple*, sauteed with
1 Onion and
Cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and curry powder and then
Simmered in chicken broth and heavy cream
Blended all together, seasoned with salt and pepper, and garnished with Grand Marnier and toasted pumpkin seeds (saved from the jack o’lanterns, of course!)
Prep cocktail (to drink while cooking): Grand Marnier, cranberry juice, and a splash of vodka
